Healthy Smoothie Recipe

Warm weather has finally arrived! To help you stay hydrated and enjoy the season, we’re going to start bringing customers more creative recipes that include Banana Bag Oral Solution.

We understand medicine doesn’t taste great to everyone. Being a medical-grade product, we get asked a lot of questions about Banana Bag Oral Solution. One of the most common is about the flavor. We don't add any unnecessary flavors, colors, or sugars to our product, which is surprising for some folks who are accustomed to "rehydration" drinks that are really little more than sugar water. But there are ways to get the benefits of BBOS while enjoying a more refreshing taste when needed.

This time of year always makes us feel ready to go camping, hiking, running, and of course surfing. Whatever your outdoor adventure of choice is, we're here to make sure you've got the energy to do it, without worrying about dehydration. The following strawberry, pineapple, banana, raspberry smoothie will definitely make you say “Mmmmmmm.”

This simple hydration smoothie tastes great, it's chock-full of vitamins & electrolytes, and can stand in as a healthy meal replacement for some people. Feel free to play around with the ratios to your taste, and don't forget to add water to help it blend and keep the hydrating power of Banana Bag Oral Solution!

  • 5 ice cubes
  • ½ cup lowfat or nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 6-12 raspberries
  • 1 cup undrained crushed pineapples
  • Orange juice
  • 1 packet of Banana Bag Oral Solution

For best results, pre-slice your fruit and place it in the freezer until solid. When ready to begin, make sure you have all the ingredients alongside your blender and favorite cup.

Typically it is best to add the heavier ingredients to the bottom of the blender. Follow these with the ice. We recommend adding in 8-16 oz of water to help the Banana Bag Oral Solution dissolve. Some liquid is definitely important but you might want to experiment with adding other flavors such as orange juice or lemonade. Just remember to make sure these juices aren’t full of sugar or other chemicals that might not be healthy for you.

In addition to these recommended ingredients, you can also consider other nutrient rich items such as kale, chia seeds, or protein powder.

When you are ready to turn on your blender, make sure to carefully review the settings before starting the mixing process. There are many different types of blenders and settings. Your preference might also be different from another person’s. Therefor, we recommend starting with a setting that crushes most of the ice and ingredients without fully liquifying them. Remember, you can always blend it more if needed.

Depending on the size of your blender and the amount of extra ingredients added, there might more smoothie than you can drink at once. Keep this in mind as you add Banana Bag Oral Solution because you may need to add more than one packet if you are blending for 2 or more people at once.

Finally pour your smoothie into your favorite glass, add a straw, and maybe a lime, lemon, or orange slice for garnish and enjoy!

As always, we're here to help you recover from dehydration caused by illness, exertion, and even a few too many drinks.
